‘glas in hout’

‘Glas in hout’ is inspired by the ‘traditional’ stained glass (translated in Dutch as ‘glas in lood’)

Where stained glass uses lead to make the framework for the glass, ‘glas in hout’ uses the material wood. Several frames are assembled together to create the recess for the glass.

The glass in stained glass (glas in lood) is replaced buy acrylics. This has the advantage that acrylic has a minimal margin in terms of thickness, so that each ‘glass plate’ fits equally into the wooden frame. In addition, acrylic is easy to laser cut, making a more extensive arsenal of shapes possible and resulting in less cutting loss. 

The ‘glas in hout’ is manufactures using the laser cutting technique. This means that fewer humans actions are required and more diversity of forms are possible. In addition, the laser cutting technology ensures more precision.

Lascessories is a jewelry brand. Laser cutting technology is used to make the main parts of the jewelry. The great advantage of the laser cutting technology is that it creates unique shapes and clean edges that are hardly achievable by hand. In addition, there is little material/cutting loss due to the efficient placement of the parts on the drawings.

Fact: The name Lascessories is a combination of the words ‘lasercut’ and ‘accessories’.
